Wanna Play II

Courtney Prahl’s “Wanna Play II” is a spirited and endearing artwork that comes to life as a premium-quality print, celebrating the beauty of collage, texture and playful storytelling. This mixed media composition portrays a Boston Terrier formed from a lively assemblage of paper fragments, including handwritten notes, aged financial documents, snippets of printed words and bright decorative patterns. Each piece is thoughtfully layered, giving the dog a sense of depth and movement, as though its character has been carefully built from moments, messages and memories. The terrier’s attentive gaze, upright ears and ready stance capture a fleeting instant of anticipation, perfectly conveying curiosity and an irresistible invitation to interact. Set against a gentle pale yellow background, softly infused with faded script and subtle typography, the artwork balances energy with calm, creating a harmonious and inviting visual experience.

Prahl’s signature style blends folk-inspired warmth with a contemporary edge, and “Wanna Play II” reflects her talent for transforming reclaimed materials into joyful, emotionally resonant imagery. The contrast between the structured form of the dog and the organic randomness of the collage elements draws the eye in, encouraging closer inspection and repeated viewing.

This piece works beautifully in interiors that value personality and creative expression. It makes a delightful feature in a lounge room or family space, where its cheerful presence adds warmth and character. In a study or home office, it provides a light-hearted focal point that sparks imagination, while in a bedroom or creative corner it brings a sense of comfort and familiarity. The artwork also suits boutique commercial spaces, waiting areas or pet-oriented environments, where its friendly subject and layered details help create a welcoming atmosphere.
