Description
Beech Forest Classic Art Prints. Gustav Klimt was born in July 1862 in Austria, he was a symbolist painter and a prominent member of the Vienna Secession movement. Klimt was famous for his paintings, sketches and murals, his primary subject in his early career was the female form but in his twilight years, he moved away from this and more into landscapes. This is one of his later paintings created in 1901 of a Beech forest. During his summer holiday on Lake Attersee, Klimt started his days early with walks in the woods. Locals even began to call him “Waldschrat” which means somebody who lives on their own in the woods.
