Sketch 160A (1921) by Kandinsky

Wassily Kandinsky’s Sketch 160A (1921) is a lively celebration of colour, imagination and artistic freedom. Created during his Bauhaus years, this distinctive abstract work reveals Kandinsky’s fascination with the expressive power of shapes and lines. Against a soft, pale background, vivid blue, red, yellow and pink forms weave together, their bold black outlines giving them a wonderfully playful, almost character-like appearance. The composition feels full of life, with curious shapes seeming to bounce, twist and dance across the surface in an improvised visual performance. As one of the pioneers of abstract art, Kandinsky challenged traditional ideas of painting, creating works that invite personal interpretation and emotional response. This spirited piece is an excellent choice for anyone looking to bring a touch of artistic heritage and unconventional charm into their home.
