Keith Haring Growing Pop Art Print. This colourful pop art entitled Growing is a print of original work by iconic artist Keith Haring. Sadly this artwork was painted in 1988, just one year after he was diagnosed with HIV and two years before his death at age 31.

Keith Haring is known for colourful, cartoon artworks and certain characters such as crawling babies, barking dogs and spaceships, he was an American artist whose pop art emerged from the New York City graffiti subculture of the 1980s. Much of Haring’s work includes sexual allusions that turned into social activism by using the images to advocate for safe sex and AIDS awareness.

Haring’s popularity grew from his spontaneous drawings in New York City subways, he created large-scale murals and produced more than 50 public artworks between 1982 and 1989, many of them created voluntarily for hospitals and schools.
