Gustav Klimt was born in July 1862 in Austria, he was a symbolist painter and a prominent member of the Vienna Secession movement, Klimt was famous for his paintings, sketches and murals, his primary subject in his early career was the female form but in his twilight years he moved away from this and more into landscapes, this is one of his later paintings created in 1912, with the benefit of perfecting his landscape work he was able to produce masterpieces such as this vibrant, dappled and explosive apple tree which we find to be totally enchanting.
