Mada Primavesi was the daughter of Eugenia and Otto Primavesi, financial backer of the Vienna Workshop. Otto commissioned Klimt on many occasions to paint both his wife and in this instance his daughter Mada. This particular painting he completed in 1912. Mada is beautifully captured in a white floral dress against a pink background.
Gustav Klimt was an Austrian Symbolist painter and one of the most prominent members of the Vienna Art Nouveau movement.
