Who was Andy Warhol

Andy Warhol was born as Andrew Warhola. He was born on the 6th of August in 1928 and lived till the 22nd of February in 1987. He was basically a painter who was based in America. He was also involved in other activities like printmaking and film making. Something that was unique about him was that he was the person who was very important in a particular art movement called as the pop art movement, which also was known as the visual art movement.

The pioneer was also involved in various activities like producing, authoring, and record producing. He was in the upper echelons of the society too. He was part of the intellectual groups at that time and was part of major art discussions.

His paintings were unique and one of his paintings that was names as the Eight Elvises went on to be sold for a record price of 100 million dollars. He had an art exhibition that was held in 1962. He was the only person displaying his art in Ferus Gallery in Los Angeles. This was also considered to be the beginning of the Pop art movement in the West of America.

Andy Warhol went on to hold many more exhibitions of his art. Some of the famous art pieces that he exhibited in the various exhibitions included those like the 100 soup cans, 100 dollar bills and the 100 coke bottles. Andy Warhol changed the painting scenario with paintings of various contemporary objects that too of mundane things like coke cans and soup cans. He was also able to make paintings of the celebrities of that day including those of people like Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor and other people.

Though most of his paintings were masterpieces, there were some of the art that were able to create some controversies. This was probably the reason for his attempted assassination too. The fact that Andy Warhol was able to create art from some of the most common things that was present in that era. The major controversy that raged was because f the use of various consumer products in the art of Andy Warhol, he was said to be someone who started using the consumerism. Though these controversies raged on, the art form during that period excelled because of people like Andy Warhol.
